Rotarian Kirk Alliman, Chair of District 6710 Scholarship Committee, attended a Danville Rotary Club meeting recently to award a scholarship check to Michael Fryar.
With his Rotary Global Grant Scholarship, Michael will begin his graduate studies this fall at the London School of Economics, in England. The scholarship is for $58,350 and covers the cost of one year of study. Half of the award will be paid by The Rotary Foundation's Global Fund and the other half by District 6710's District Designated Funds.
At the London School of Economics, Michael will work towards a Master of Science Degree in Economic Development. His professional goal is to help construct financial systems in third world countries that are inclusive and enable access to financial tools by people who historically have not had access to financial institutions.
